Its not like they didn't try.

They DID a screenplay for a Nightfall cinematic, but it gave away too much of the story.

So it was scrapped.

I'd rather have em put all their effort into making GUILDWARS2 look and play like those prophecies and factions movies

However... this not being profitable at all for ANET... I still would like to see a Nightfall cinematic... i mean... we had them for Prophecies and Factions... where is nightfall, the cream of the crop game?

well you may think so but many would disagree on the cream of the crop *i think prph > NF > factions really* but i dont really think we need a nf cinematic this late after its release but yea maybe..... idk i would like to see much more content to further delve into GW no matter what form it manifests.

DvD's would require way too much effort, or we get some random third party team that doesn't really give a crap about Guild Wars. Novels, however, would be exactly what Anet needs to keep some players hyped, and come GW2 may just help to make it the next big household name of a fantasy universe.

I loved the cinematics, thought Factions was way better, would have loved a nightfall one, and would still like to see one, if they did mini dvd cinematics I'd get them,

I also think books are a good marketing play, and hell if they used Jeff Grubb then even better, though I wouldn't buy them myself as i'm already addicted to half a dozen franchises out there, and can't affoard to expand more. However I believe many would go out and buy them, and if they were good, then would continue to do so.

If Anet can't do it then there is no stopping ncsoft sourcing out to get production elsewhere and if they supply the script then they can ensure the storyline is at least in line with their wishes.
